When joint pain, swelling, or inflammation can’t wait, NRACE is here to help.

NRACE (Nasseri Rheumatology Acute Care Evaluation) is our urgent rheumatology care program designed to provide timely evaluation for patients experiencing new or worsening joint pain, swelling, stiffness, or other symptoms that may be related to arthritis or an inflammatory condition.

Our goal is to help patients get the right evaluation and treatment without having to wait weeks or months for a rheumatology appointment.

Who Is NRACE For?

NRACE may be appropriate for patients experiencing:

• Sudden or painful swollen joints
• Inflamed or warm joints
• New or worsening joint pain
• Acute arthritis symptoms
• Gout or suspected gout attacks
• Severe joint stiffness or limited movement
• Knee, shoulder, wrist, hand, foot, ankle, or neck pain
• Possible inflammatory arthritis
• Flare-ups of an existing rheumatologic condition
• Unexplained joint inflammation
• Symptoms that may require an urgent rheumatology evaluation

NRACE evaluations are performed by our rheumatologists and advanced practice providers specializing in rheumatology and arthritis care. Our team evaluates the underlying cause of your symptoms and determines the appropriate next steps, which may include diagnostic testing, laboratory work, imaging, medication recommendations, joint evaluation, or follow-up with a rheumatologist.

Depending on the condition, we can evaluate concerns involving the knees, shoulders, hands, wrists, elbows, hips, feet, ankles, neck, and other joints.
